The first recovery option can be used to recovery files that have been deleted from the computer system. A list of all connected hard drives is displayed after selection.

The selected hard drive will be scanned by the application. This can take some time depending on the speed and size of the hard drive or partition. It took about five minutes to scan a 260 Gigabyte hard drive with Windows running on it.

The recovery software will display a list of files that it can try to recovery. Folders are displayed in the left sidebar while the actual deleted files that have been found during the scan on the right. Each file is displayed with its filename, file size, file type and dates.

Icons are used to distinguish between lost folders, deleted files or folders and lost or raw files. The top contains buttons to find a file by name, search the files or to preview files

Files or folders can be selected to be recovered and a click on the Next button will initiate the recovery process. It is recommended to save the recovered files on a different partition or hard drive to avoid data loss due to overwriting the wrong space on the hard drive.

Complete recovery can help if the hard drive has been formatted, if Windows displays a dialog to format the disk although data had been on it before, after virus attacks and software crashes.

The interface is basically the same as before with the difference that unformatted partitions are also displayed in the selection window.

The partition recovery mode can be used to recover partitions that have been accidentally deleted.

Hard Disk Recovery in India

Last week we shifted to India. It was the first time after our newborn. Before him, we used to shift frequently, owing to the nature of my husband's work. Since junior was still very small, most of my time was spent with him. So, my husband had done most of the packing and was now busy with unpacking. I had put junior off to sleep, and was cooking something for us, when I heard a loud groan. It was my husband. I hurried to the room he was in, just to find him kicking the CPU of the computer. Windows 7 Partition Corrupted file or directory Error after Resizing

Windows 7 Disk Management utility allows you to resize existing hard disk partitions non-destructively, without the aid of any third-party tool. Before running the tool, it is however strongly recommended to backup all the important data. The post-effects of resizing the partitions can sometimes be corrupt file system structures. As a result, your partition(s) may become completely inaccessible and cause data loss situations. To recover from such problems, you need to restore from a suitable backup, if available or use a Windows Partition Recovery solution that can recover lost data.

As an instance of such problems, you can consider a practical situation when you try to resize two partitions on a Windows 7 based computer. You shrink the frist partition by A GB and extend the second one by the same value. The next time, when you try to access the second partition (that has been extended), it is longer accessible with an error as below:
